Transparency about how we make money helps you read the site with the right context. Shoals Flooring Directory is a free resource; we do not charge homeowners to browse listings or read our guides. We earn revenue in two ways, described below, and neither one affects which businesses qualify for a listing or what our guides recommend.
We participate in Google AdSense and other display-ad networks. Ads may appear on directory and blog pages. These ads are served by third-party networks and the advertiser, not Shoals Flooring Directory, determines what is shown and to whom. Ad revenue is not tied to any specific local business on this directory.
You can recognize ads served by Google AdSense by their labels, and our ads.txt file (google.com, pub-1980855337345796, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0) publicly authorizes Google to sell inventory on this domain. We do not write favorable guides about advertisers, and an advertiser cannot pay us to be featured in an article.
Some businesses may choose an optional featured placement that surfaces their listing more prominently in the directory. Featured placement is always labeled (for example, a “Featured” tag), it is available to qualifying local businesses, and paying for featured placement does not change a business's ratings, category, or any editorial mention. A business that does not advertise appears in the directory on the same basis as one that does.
The Shoals Flooring Directory Editorial Team writes and reviews our guides independently of the advertising and featured-placement process. Guides are planned and written first; ad placements are decided after. No advertiser reviews or approves our editorial content, and our editorial policy governs how listings and articles are produced regardless of advertising status.
Outbound links to businesses, manufacturers, and government resources are provided for the reader's convenience. Where a link could generate compensation (for example, certain affiliate relationships), we will label it.
