Shoals Flooring Directory is a locally built directory of flooring stores, tile specialists, hardwood contractors, and floor-care professionals serving the Shoals area of Northwest Alabama, including Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, and the surrounding communities. This page explains how we decide what appears on the site, how listings are researched, and how our editorial coverage is kept separate from advertising.

Who We Are

Editorial content is produced and reviewed by the Shoals Flooring Directory Editorial Team, based in the Shoals area of Northwest Alabama. We publish a practical flooring blog for local homeowners and maintain the directory you see on this site. We are not flooring installers and we do not claim installer credentials. Our guides summarize publicly available industry, manufacturer, and government guidance so you can ask better questions of the local professionals you hire.

What We Publish

  • Business listings. A profile for each flooring business we have identified as serving the Shoals, with the services it offers and the area it covers.
  • City and service pages. Organized views of the directory by city and by service type.
  • Guides. Original, locally focused articles on choosing materials, hiring contractors, and caring for flooring in a humid climate. Each sourced guide lists the references it relied on and links to our methodology.

How Listings Are Added and Kept Current

Our process combines automated structural checks with selective manual enrichment:

  1. We start from public business information for flooring companies operating in or near the Shoals.
  2. An automated structural pass checks each record for a plausible name, an active phone number or website, a real service area, and consistent service categories before it is eligible to appear.
  3. We then selectively enrich records by hand, confirming address, phone, hours, and specialties against the business's own published information where available.
  4. Listings can also be submitted directly by owners through our free “List Your Business” page.

What “Verified” Means Here

We want to be precise rather than overstate. When we describe a listing as checked or verified, we mean that it passed the structural checks above and that we reviewed its public contact details. Not every listing is owner-verified, and we have not personally contacted every business on the directory. A listing on this site is not an endorsement, a warranty of workmanship, or a claim that the business is currently operating. Always confirm current hours, availability, licensing, and insurance directly with the business before hiring.

Independence From Advertising

Shoals Flooring Directory earns revenue through advertising, including Google AdSense and optional featured placement for local businesses. Advertising and featured placement never change whether a business is listed, and an advertiser does not receive more favorable editorial treatment in our guides. Our blog is written first and ads are placed after; an advertiser cannot pay to be recommended in an article. See our advertising disclosure for the full statement and our methodology for how guides are researched.

Ratings and Reviews Shown on Listings

Some listings display an aggregate rating or review count. These values are maintained in our directory data alongside the listing, not pulled from a live third-party review feed in real time. Treat them as a starting point and confirm current reviews on the business's own profiles before deciding.

Corrections

Flooring businesses open, close, move, and change services, and we will get something wrong sometimes. If you spot outdated or incorrect information, please contact usor use the “claim listing” prompt on the business profile. We review correction requests, update affected listings, and prioritize records with clear, verifiable sourcing.

Ownership and the “Upfront Pricing” Profiles

Where the same ownership exists between this directory and a listed business, we disclose that ownership openly on the listing and in its pricing profile. Ownership disclosure is added so readers can weigh it, not to inflate a business's standing.
